Bing Bang Bong @ Spectrum

bbbI haven't actually had the opportunity to play a dj set, just using vinyl for a very long time, maybe as long as 18 months. Especially as all my albums and 7"s have been in storage in either London or Sydney for a whole year, so Saturday was good for digging out all the funky stompers. Dropped in at Longrain in Surry Hills first, where Crucial D was good enough to let me drop a few sides in his set, the last before he locates to Bahrain for 6 months. Then across the road to Spectrum on Oxford St to do my "In The Ghetto" set at Bing Bang Bong. Six Dj's, six hours, six themes - quite a concept - this time punctuated by belly dancers in full costume and Gnemesis a Hawaiin Punk covers band doing Genesis songs with ukelelles and kazoos!!!
Managed to mix up an hour of funk, soul, reggae and hip-hop, with following tunes though maybe not in this order:

And it all felt pretty good to me
